When it comes to Austin family photography for a little girls’ shoot, the recipe for perfection might just be pink, preppy, and – best of all – a pony!
To start things off, Ziem staged the shoot last spring in the backyard of her own home. Ziem loved working there with big sister Charlotte and little sister Annie, whom she knew from her own daughters’ preschool. These sweet girls dutifully followed Big Sister and Little Sister guidelines, with Charlotte providing the maternal, rule-following precociousness and Annie the sociable, strong-willed fun.
Speaking of blossoms, look at all that pink! The adorable floral outfits! No surprise that the girls were expertly attired, as Mom runs her own monogramming business. Just to add to the preppy perfection, Ziem added a pony to the mix – a pony! – with predictably delighted results. Somehow everyone – a certain photographer included – ended up sans shoes, running around the yard and generally having a terrific time.
To conclude the shoot, Big Sister ended up running the show, including some self-posed works of art. Charlotte came back from a brief break, letting her little sis take over the show – temporarily, as it turns out. It’s Charlotte’s preppy, pink world, and her little sister and photographer are just living in it!
These are two wonderful little girls with amazing parents. Ziem feels so fortunate to have captured their friendship on camera and is thrilled to be shooting the family again this fall.
